Description of the Actual Services Provided | The project promoted win-win energy cooperation relationship among the ASEAN countries and between the ASEAN region and the EU. It encouraged participation of the private sector in all energy areas to develop the energy sector and narrow the development gap between countries within the region. It facilitated the integration of a regional energy network into a global energy network : the business sector needs a network to access information and make decision. The ASEAN business sector was particularly looking for integration into world mainstream energy networks. EU strategies and programmes on sustainable energy and environment can serve as an example for a master plan and road map of the ASEAN business council for the development of sustainable energy and environment (ABCDE). The European experience in the development of sectoral associations and councils, representing the private sector, was closely looked at as providing a guiding point towards this development. |
