Description of the Actual Services Provided The specific fields covered are :
* Rational use of energy and energy efficiency - in industry, the transportation and the tertiary - and including clean combustion techniques and utilization of natural gas in electricity production ;
* Renewable energy sources, especially for rural applications.
To mobilize European partners a first phase providing information / training on Asian contexts is needed, taking the form of a " Markets and Partners" guide.
The guide contains the following information :
* General synthesis of renewable energy and the energy efficiency, their development and perspectives in the concerned zones.
* A country by country (Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam) overview including: Markets : synthesis and description Asian partner profiles and useful contacts, and appropriateness for collaboration.
In order to maximise know-how, contacts have also been provided from organisations like ACE - Asian Centres for Energy (Jakarta), AIT - Asian Institute of Technology (Bangkok) and as well from ongoing projects on linked themes such PRESSEA I and II (Promotion of Renewable Energy Sources in South East-Asia (PRESSEA), financed by the European Commission).
