Description :
This project follows the formulation of a plan to eliminate the use of CFCs in fluid refrigerating in centrifugal chillers in the Republic of the Ivory Coast.
The first output was a synthesis of studies and existent diagnosis, and collection of additional data so as to establish the operational and financial setting of an investment program.
The study focussed essentially on liquid cooling systems of a capacity superior to 500 kW, essentially used in the sector of the central air conditioning, for applications in the building (office buildings, hotels, hospitals, airports, etc.) and textile industry

Description of the Actual Services Provided Objectives and outputs were :
* to overcome barriers to a general adoption of new cooling equipment having best energy efficiency,
* to reduce emissions of greenhouse gas by replacing or converting current equipment by equipment having the best possible energy efficiency,
* to avoid the further depletion of the ozone layer by replacing or converting the centrifugal chillers by equipment free of CFC11 and 12.
After having made the synthesis of studies and existent diagnosis and taken necessary contacts with institutional operators, suppliers and concerned financiers, the study proposed an investment program integrating public and private sector operators. Terms of reference of the detailed feasibility study of the program were prepared.
