IED has been involved in the identification mission of the sectorial Energy Programme of the Danish and Burkina Faso Co-operation. Specifically, IED provided technical support on the evaluation of requests formulated by the Ministry of Energy and by SONABEL, and on the preparation of three components of the program : * Decentralised rural electrification * Electrification of secondary centres * Bobo-Ouaga Interconnection |

| Description of the Actual Services Provided | 1/ Elaboration of a basis for decision making for financing a decentralised rural electrification project: - view of the electrification needs at a national scale, definition of the field of the DRE and articulations of suburban and urban electrification problematics; - research on a relevant approach to rationalize and encourage the development of the DRE (particularities of the market, energy impact and environmental, organizational and decisional modes, instruments for financing, institutional and legislative supports) ; - components of a of large action scale plan; - indications for the pilot project of Beguédo. 2/ Electrification of secondary centres - retrospective evaluation of the electrified secondary centres (general statistics, financial and economic profile) ; - proposal for a new approach ; - elements of a specification for the next electrification of secondary centres (prescriptions for studies, organizational and financial prescriptions, illustration from the case of Bogandé). 3/ Bobo-Ouaga Interconnection - Preliminary analysis of an interconnection grid project: - methodology ; - provisional and historical statement of energy and of power on the two grids CRCO and CRCB ; - impact of the interconnection, multiple functionalities of the grid ; - principles of the study of supplies and feasibility planning of the line. |
