The EuroREX (the “European Renewable Energy Exchange”) is a database, providing information on renewable energy sources (RES).The framework of the database has been elaborated and developed in an EC-Thermie project by Energy for Sustainable Development, ESD (UK). Information / data was given by partners located in the different countries of the European Union and of Central and Eastern Europe. The database, EuroREX, offers the subscribers an information panel, regarding new and renewable energy sources. The database also gives general information on energy consumption and production, especially renewable energy, and energy policy of European countries and a newsletter published on the web twice a month. IED had been since the beginning of 1998 the French partner for the EuroREX database. ADEME provided IED a financial support for developing the French part of the web site. |

| Description of the Actual Services Provided | IED's tasks concentrated on : * giving information, providing articles, to feed the newsletter, * updating and filling in the country information page (energy policy, energy statistics, contacts, legislation, programmes, companies information, investment opportunities, R&D programmes, etc.). Information presented in the database has been analysed in order to present specific synthesis. This is has been realised for biomass, wind and PV, describing the main programmes and instruments used in other countries in order to develop these energy sources. |
