Description : |
The Gabonese government plans to develop universal access to electricity and to drinking water on the whole territory. The government thus wants to (i) develop sustainable access to drinking water and to electricity by transferring the operation and maintenance of the equipment to private operators, and (ii) move from a logic based on equipment supply to a service provision logic, with rural households subscribing to paid services provided by the private operator. The overall responsibility for the operations and maintenance activities will be done by the CNEE (National Council of Water and Electricity). |
