Description : |
The project is part of the program PASEL (Support project to Electricity Sector) - Lighting Africa component, implemented by the Burkina Faso Government and funded by the World Bank. It aims to distribute 25 000 solar lamps in 400 schools located in the 13 regions of Burkina Faso, throughout setting up of solar libraries in each beneficiary school. This demonstration activity by utilisation of solar lamps by pupils should allow to initiate, in parallel, the establishment of commercial mechanisms allowing solar lamps Lighting Africa access to the rural market : this should be achieved by the sale of 24 000 solar lamps, during the time of the project. |

Description of the Actual Services Provided | SNV is responsible for project implementation, and IED is in charge of monitoring and evaluation : - To propose the list of the 400 beneficiary schools; - To develop a system for collecting, processing and analyses of data collected from solar libraries, and monitor their performance; - To report periodically on the functionality of school libraries - To produce thematic and synthesis maps to illustrate lessons learned and results of the project - To ensure accessibility of monitoring data at different levels (donors, partners, ministries, general public) by internet. |
