As part of the Get. Transform program, iED has been mandated to provide technical assistance to the Lesotho Electricity Generation Company (LEGCO). This technical assistance is part of Phase 2 of the 80MWp Ha-Ramarothole power plant project, a solar power generation project co-financed by the EXIM Bank of China through a concessional loan and by the Government of Lesotho (GOL), through direct annual budget support. During project phase 1, a 30 MW solar power plant and the modernization of a substation were built and completed in 2023. Phase 2 will consist of a 50 MW solar power plant, including 6 MW of battery storage. For Phase 2, LEGCO asked GET.transform to provide technical assistance as a consultant. Its role is to assist LEGCO in the solar power plant supervision and control of the definition and construction works corresponding to phase 2. |
