Description :
This project is part of a program financed by Facility 2050 in Cambodia, its second phase aims to model the macroeconomic impacts of different energy transition scenarios. IED is in charge of updating the CEPIA model developed during the program phase 1, from supporting the coupling of the energy model (CEPIA) and the AFD's ESTEEM model to preparing a draft and structure of an energy balance.
   ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description of the Actual Services Provided (1) Update of the CEPIA Energy Tool previously adapted for Phase I, an Excel-based energy sector modelling tool, to provide updated sustainability scenarios as well as the associated investment and operational costs.
(2) Preparation of Excel sheets containing aggregated costs by technology and scenario, as well as cost breakdown for specific sectors, to feed into the ESTEEM model with the aim of assessing the macroeconomics dynamics of green transition trajectories in Cambodia. The new trajectories will need to reflect current and future national energy sector policies.
3) Establishment of the structure and the outline of an Energy Balance (EB):
a. Compilation and analysis of existing data to prepare the structure and draft of a design body.
b. Development of suitable comprehensive data models based on Excel.
c. Design of a streamlined digital tool for more efficient and smooth data collection, and visualization of Energy Balance (EB) results, building on an existing web-based model.
d. Dissemination of the finalised structure of the BE.
e. Preparation of a roadmap for data collection processes and a user guide.
f. Training of stakeholders on data collection and analysis as well as on the use of digital tools.
Main deliverables:
a. Updated CEPIA model
b. Structure and numerical tool of an energy balance
c. Cost data for the ESTEEM model
