This project goal is to develop a new Excel-based electricity demand forecasting tool for Kenya's National Electricity Demand Forecasting Committee. It provides accurate electricity needs estimation at a fine level of disaggregation (regional and county), in order to inform strategic and public policy decisions. |

| Description of the Actual Services Provided | This project is divided into two sub-tasks: (i) provide key players with an up-to-date forecasting tool incorporating new demand trends (electric cooking, electric mobility, captive generation and mini-grids); (ii) produce demand and load forecasts calibrated in the short-, medium- and long-term, according to the required segmentation levels, for three scenarios: Reference, Vision and Low. (iii) coordinate training and capacity building needs with the Danish Energy Agency (DEA) for key users of the upgraded tool. • Final key deliverables: o Diagnostic report of the existing tool and proposal of methodology o New electricity demand forecasting tool o Three scenarios for forecasting electricity demand and long-term load o User and technical guide |
