Description :
IED Invest Cameroon studied, developed, built, and then commissioned in March 2022, strictly in accordance with the current regulatory framework, the very first small hydroelectric power plant in Mbakaou, Tibati District in the Adamawa Region with a capacity of 1.5 MW. The 30kV MV network was built between the plant and Tibati and then was returned to MINEE to be integrated into the ENEO concession. The energy's sale, produced by the plant, is governed by a PPA between IED Invest Cameroon as IPP and ENEO as distributor.
On the strength of this first pilot experience, which is now unanimously recognized in the country by all institutional players in the energy sector, IED Invest Cameroon pursues its contribution to the electrification and to renewable energy capacities increase, by developing, on the same scheme, two new sites, in the Adamawa region, according to the MoU signed on February 21, 2024.
The Vina (3.4MW) and Mbalang Djalingo (4.8MW) sites will inject respectively into the 110/15/30kV source substation in Ngaoundéré with a 30kV MV connection by lines of 265m and 41km . The project also includes the rural electrification of the surrounding localities and its associated electricity networks over 33km.
